About

An ancient pub in the Forest of Dean & the Wye Valley

The Ostrich Inn is a charming and ancient pub situated in Newland, a beautiful village that lies on the western edge of the Forest of Dean and in the Wye Valley, both areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Come visit us, everyone is welcome! We offer some of the best local ales, food, and the best pub garden in the area!

Everyone is welcome!

Come in and enjoy real ales from local brewers and good locally sourced food (dogs, children, walking boots and bikes are welcome but optional!)

Families

Cyclists & Walkers

We love cyclists and walkers too.  Try one of our circular walks. We know how annoying it can be if you don't have a safe space to lock up your bike- so you can use our pub garden.

Shortly, we will have bike racks - keep an eye on our social!

We will try our best to cater to everyone's needs and be as inclusive as possible.

Since we are a 17th Century pub, wheelchair access is challenging at this time. If you have specific accessibility needs and would like to know more, please give us a call on
+44 (0)1594 833260 or email us at enquiries@TheOstrichInn.com.

Food & Beer

Locally sourced ingredients & delicious seasonal dishes are our speciality

We regularly update our menus - click above for details!

Our dishes use the best ingredients sourced locally and are prepared on site by our chef, Mark, and are cooked to order.

Our menu changes regularly so please check back here for updates.  Deserts change weekly so here we have provided a sample menu.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible through our veggie, vegan, and gluten-free options. Contact us if you would like to know more!

“Hang spring cleaning!” cries Mole as he abandons this seasonal task for the call of the world above.

And what a world he discovers! The River, The Wild Wood and  The Wide World beyond. Mole will experience adventure like  never before! Join him as he learns the joys and dangers of  living outside of his hole and forges friendships with the  logical Rat, formidable Badger and who can forget the  outrageous Toad of Toad Hall.

Closely adapted from the original and best-selling children’s  book by Kenneth Grahame and combined with traditional folk  music, this will delight children and adults alike this summer!

Running time: approximately 85 minutes.

Why not come for Sunday Lunch before the show?
